About

OptQC is a Japanese photonic quantum computing company building highly scalable, general-purpose optical quantum computers operating at room temperature using time-domain multiplexing technology. Founded on 25 years of optical quantum computing research at University of Tokyo.

November 2025: Signed collaboration agreement with NTT Corporation to develop optical quantum computers targeting 10,000 qubits by 2027 and 1 million qubits by 2030.

2025 Developments: First commercial optical quantum computer scheduled for April 2026. Target: 10,000 quantum modes processor by 2028. Technology enables room-temperature operation and scalable quantum computing without cryogenic cooling. Partnership with NTT leverages Japan's photonics and telecommunications expertise.
